Astronomy is one of few science fields where even a non-professional can give his effective contribute for the research.
Many astronomical events are in the range of the instruments that are normally available in an amateurs astronomical club.
Variable stars, supernovae, meteors, the Sun, asteroids and comets are only few of the searching fieds where anyone can spread his love for the sky.
The CCAF, buying in 1985 the telescope of 40 cm (15.7"), choose as main research field the Solar system minor bodies astrometry.
Other projects, actually under development, head to supernovae identification and radio observation of meteor streams.
